Recently I received this email from a friend, Peter Roberson: "Dear Scott, we met a Navajo man on our way home from Michigan. We shared with him the book packet, The Great Controversy and Thrive Magazine…..He said, 'Do they have Navajo? English is a foreign language to me.' I said 'I don't know if they have Navajo but check it out.'
Today I was browsing the MLML.org site and saw that they don't have the Great Controversy, but they do have Steps to Christ in Navajo. I found another website from AWR that you might consider also including”
I'm so glad that Peter cared enough to reach out. I'm so glad he went a step further to search out more resources. This AWR podcast addition is amazing with much new material by Navajo church members and friends for their own people.
The Navajo are the largest of 574 federally recognized tribes in America. There are more than 300,000 tribal members in Navajoland which covers 27,000 square miles of Utah, Arizona, and New Mexico. This is a nation within the United States—part of the world next door. It has its own government with 88 council delegates which represent 110 Navajo Nation chapters. The people face many challenges such as a housing shortage, greater incidences of diabetes and alcohol/substance abuse, and poverty in general.
