The New Year's like a new phone

That shines without a scratch

But inside all is transferred

To make a perfect match

Our history forms our future

The bitter and the sweet

Except we have the option

To choose to press delete

What new plans will we download?

What past will we discard?

And will we place protection

Before a day is marred?

Our bodies, minds, and hearts

Deserve our utmost care
